What is the difference between vinyl and PVC fence?
Honestly, there isn’t one. PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride – that’s the plastic that vinyl fences are made from. Some people call it vinyl, some call it PVC, but it’s the same thing.
The reason people get confused is because you’ll hear “vinyl fence” and “PVC fence” used like their different products. They’re not. It’s just two different names for the same material.
What matters more than the name is the quality of the vinyl. Cheap vinyl gets brittle and cracks in Florida’s intense sun. Good vinyl – the thick, UV-rated stuff – lasts for decades without fading or breaking down even in our brutal heat and humidity.
